Hello. I'm Shona (Desonie)
The founder of LunaCare. With a diploma in Registered Practical Nursing and over 15 years of experience caring for newborns, I've had the privilege of nurturing little ones from the very start. Often referred to as the “baby whisperer” by my clients, I specialize in sleep training, postnatal newborn care, and developing healthy habits from the beginning, helping to establish desired routines and schedules. A fun fact about me is that I learned the ropes from my mother, Joan, who has been my mentor. Joan worked as a night nurse for over 25 years and supported families all across Canada and the USA.
As a teenager, I would sometimes accompany my mom to work at night, and it was during these moments that I developed a deep passion for working with children. This passion led me to create LunaCare, where I connect families with caring and knowledgeable providers.
Celebrating milestones like a baby’s first smile, laugh, or steps is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. As a mother myself, I deeply understand the challenges and joys of caring for a newborn, which allows me to empathize with parents and offer personalized support that meets their unique needs.
